Welcome to Coastal Pharmacy
'Coastal Pharmacy’, the new name being adopted by Yorkshire Street Pharmacy, is certainly more suitable given its new location on the promenade, inside Coastal Medical Group’s Surgery, at 1 Heysham Road, opposite ‘the Battery’. It opened its doors for business on 15th June 2009 in purpose built premises which Miss Kerry Pyne, the Superintendent Pharmacist, believes will not‘ only secure the future of the Pharmacy but improve the range of services it offers.
She went on to say “The move, which is only a few hundred yards from our previous location on Yorkshire Street, was prompted by the difficulties we had experienced as a result of limited space at our previous site. This move, to more spacious accommodation, will allow us to expand and improve the range of services we provide, offering new services for those with minor ailments and long term conditions through routine monitoring, early diagnosis and health promotion.”
“The New Pharmacy is accessed through the building’s main doors which guide you into a welcoming waiting area from which you can access the spacious, purpose built pharmacy. The design and layout clearly reflect the high professional and clinical standards patients’ have come to expect from us. We will of course continue to provide our current services to those customers already using us for their prescriptions and look forward to welcoming new customers who we think will find the service we offer friendly, efficient and personal.”
We understand the change might be unsettling for some of our customers but we are confident our service will remain convenient, efficient and personal, as familiar faces will be there to greet our established customers at the new pharmacy.
Kerry went on to say “Now we have the capacity we aim to provide a wider range of pharmacy services from the new premises, which includes a separate, dedicated, consultation room for patients wishing to discuss confidential matters, without losing the traditional and friendly service valued by our customers.”
